MYC STUDENTS CONTINUE TO WIN MEDALS FOR EXCELLENCE

MYC students continue to win Medals for Excellence




KANATA, ON, December 2010 -- Simon Kuttner, an MYC-graduate of Jocelyn Douglas in Ottawa-Nepean, ON will be awarded the 2010 Silver Medal for Grade 3 Piano by the Royal Conservatory of Music. His mark was 97%. The Ontario and Quebec Silver Medal Awards Ceremony will take place on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at the Royal Conservatory, TELUS Centre for Performing and Learning in Toronto.

Sister Lillian Gaudet in Antigonish, NS began teaching Ruthie Stanley-Blackwell at 3 years old. Ruthie is now 9 1/2 and has received Conservatory Canada's Medal of Excellence for the highest mark in Nova Scotia in Grade 1 Piano.

Besides studying piano, Ruthie also takes voice and ballet lessons and enjoys all types of music. She is pictured below with Sister Lillian Gaudet.

  MYC teacher Arpi Meguerditchian in Mount Royal, QC had the following Conservatory Canada Silver Medalists: Ben Rossy, Grade 2 Piano and Julian Guidote, Grade 4 Piano.

Joanne Grant whose student Yan Groushvitski in Saint-Laurent QC received a Silver Medal for Grade 1 Piano.

And Lise Gauthier, Coordinator for Quebec, also had the following students receive Silver Medals for their theory exams: Eolie Delisle, Theory 1 in Ste. Julie and Sevan Kouyoumdjian, Theory 2 in Mount Royal.

Congratulations to all of these Music for Young Children graduates. It is quite remarkable to see so many MYC-grads continue to receive these Silver Medals which reflects the very high quality of musical training offered by Music for Young Children.
